I stopped
by the shop one day to talk with someone about learning to dive and immediately
signed up to take the Open Water class. That was in March of 2004 and by
October of 2005; I had completed both Master Diver and Dive Master
Certifications. My wife claims I am obsessed with diving and I guess she is
right. I think I would dive in a mud puddle if I thought there might be
something to see. I still remember how excited I got the very first time I
went diving as a “Certified Diver” and I have never stopped learning to be a
better diver.
While I
love to travel and dive in warm Caribbean waters to see the reefs and abundant
sea life, my adrenaline really gets going when a shipwreck looms up out of the
murky depths, just waiting to be explored. The coasts of Virginia and North
Carolina are great places to find shipwrecks and the close proximity makes them
an easy weekend excursion. My other passion lies with cave diving and if you
have a couple of days to listen, just ask me why! The scenery inside underwater
caves is breathtaking. I also dive with the Lake Monticello Water Rescue team
as a water rescue diver which is a rewarding and exciting way to help people in
and around the water.
