PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer #343104
Shushawn has been a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor since 2014. She has a passionate love for the ocean and believes that all scuba divers are ambassadors to our water ways and a voice for the creatures that live in them. She also believes that an exceptional diver is a safe diver, and this principle is what guides her instruction. She strives for excellence and produces divers who are strong, confident individuals both in and out of the water. She loves to see how diving transforms her students and changes their lives for the better… forever.
Her passion is diving, and her heart is in Haiti. She travels to Haiti on a regular basis where she and her husband support a small orphanage. Her vision is to promote the sport of scuba diving in Haiti. To do this she runs dive trips and organizes sea camps for the children in the orphanage.
Shushawn's vision is to help educate the children, the local fishermen, and the surrounding community in ocean conservation, marine life, and self-sustainability. She hopes to see the sport of diving grow into a lucrative addition to Haiti’s blossoming tourism industry, providing jobs both in the community and throughout the country. She is working toward mentoring the children so that they develop a deep love and respect for the ocean, training them in eco-tourism so that they can live independently when they age out of the orphanage. She has organized many dive trips where travel teams get to truly encounter life both above and below the waters of Haiti.
